Notifications
Toppo tells you of what happens on the issues you follow, in the app and by email.
Who is told of what
You follow an issue when you reported it, when it is assigned to you, when you comment on it, or when you click Follow. Unfollow stops it for good, even if you comment again.
| What happens | Who is told |
|---|---|
| A new issue | The members of roles told of every new issue (New issues) |
| An issue assigned | The new assignee, and the issue's followers |
| A comment | The issue's followers, and the people it mentions |
| A comment edited | Only the people it mentions for the first time |
| A status changed | The issue's followers |
| An issue marked as a duplicate | The issue's followers |
You are never told of what you did yourself, nor of an issue you may not see.
The bell
The bell in the top bar counts what you have not read, and lists the latest 20: open one to go to its issue, which marks it read. Mark all as read clears the count; See all opens the Notifications page, 20 a page. Read notifications go after 90 days.
By email
A notification you have not read within 5 minutes is sent to you by email, in your language, when email is set up. In My account › Notifications, choose which kinds reach you by email:
- New issues (if your role tells you of them)
- Issues given to me
- Assignments of the issues I follow
- Comments on the issues I follow
- Mentions
- Status changes of the issues I follow
- Duplicates among the issues I follow
All are on to start with. In the app, you are told of all of them.
