Members and access
People join Toppo by invitation; a role gives them what they may do, and project access where. Settings › Members manages people, with the permission Manage members; a project's Access tab manages who reaches it, with Project access.
Inviting people
In Settings › Members, click Invite members:
- Email addresses: 20 at most, one per line or separated by commas.
- Role: the role they will have.
- Project access: None for now, Every project (present and future), or Chosen projects.
Create the links gives one personal link per address, valid for 7 days and shown once: copy it to send it yourself, or let Toppo email it when email is set up. Addresses that already belong to members are left out.
Opening the link, the person chooses their name and a password of 12 characters at least, and their account is made. Until then, the invitation shows among the members as Invited, or Expired once its week is over. Its menu gives a New link (the old one stops working) or deletes the invitation.
Managing members
The list shows 50 people a page, by role, searchable by name or email.
- Their role: the badge on their row changes it, from their next request on.
- Deactivate: their sessions end at once and they can no longer sign in; nothing of theirs is lost. Reactivate lets them back in.
- Delete for good: their name, address and password are erased; their issues and comments stay, signed "Deleted user". Their address can be invited again.
Nobody changes their own role, deactivates or deletes themselves, and Toppo keeps at least one active administrator.
Project access
A person reaches a project when they are its member, when they were given every project, or when they are an administrator. In a project, Access lists them all:
- Add members picks people who do not reach it yet, with a Role in the project: Their own role, or another one (see a role in a project).
- Each member's role changes from their row, and Remove takes them out.
- Administrators and those given every project show as Automatic access: they cannot be removed here.
The Project access item of a member's menu, in Settings › Members, does the same from the person's side: one switch per project, and Every project for those who should reach all of them, present and future.
You only give a role whose project permissions you hold yourself in that project: see never more than you hold.
